Mackenzie Poole is from Marion, IL. Mackenzie joined her first all star team in 4th grade and hasn't looked away from the world of cheer since then. Mackenzie cheered for her hometown Marion Wildcats for six years, from 7th grade – 12th grade. She was also the center snare for the MHS Drumline and heavily involved in Student Council, FDLA, and many other organizations, in addition to to graduating 7th in her class.

Mackenzie's skills are backhandsprings to full, round off full, standings to tuck and whip passes. She has the following awards and titles: 6x UCA All American (2009-2014), 2x UCA Jump Queen, 6x UCA Jump off finalist, 2011 UCA Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance Team, 2014 Spirit of America Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance Team, 2014 and 2015 Salem Tournament Cheer Competition Champions.

Mackenzie believes that being a role model is not about pretending to be someone you aren't in hopes of impressing others. In today's social media driven society, people are constantly trying to personify the image of who they want to be. Role models do not need this social reinforcement. By simply being who they are, they inspire others to be the same type of individuals that their persona encompasses.

Mackenzie proves to be a role model and leader on her team, in her community and on or off the competition mat because of her dedication, enthusiasm and desire to inspire others by volunteering and helping those in need.

Mackenzie's favorite cheer moment was when a first grader came to her at a cheer clinic and asked to take a picture with her. The girls' mother told Mackenzie that she had watched her at every game since football and even started taking drum lessons so one day she could be a cheerleader and on the drumline, just like Mackenzie.

The best advice Mackenzie can offer other cheerleaders is to remember that when it comes down to it, people don't care what tumbling pass you can throw, they want to see someone who looks happy, fierce and powerful. Whether it's on the mat, the football field or gym floor, confidence and charisma speak louder than any skill or title.
