Monaco defines leadership as someone who leads because it is right, not because someone is watching you. He also says being a role model is being someone who others want to be like or look up to. Being a great example for the younger generations. Monaco is a leader on his team by keeping his teammates on task and motivating them to be the best they can be on and off the mat. He is a leader in the community by participating in food drives and donating to the homeless.

Monaco is always encouraging people to go after their dreams, to always do the right thing and to be a good humanitarian.

Before taking the mat for a competition, Monaco says a prayer, walks out with the same person and whispers to his flyer.
